Bringing Nature, Creativity, and Curiosity Into the Classroom
Amber is a nature photographer and storyteller who loves helping everyone slow down, look closer, and discover their connection to the natural world. Her guest lessons are designed to be hands-on and engaging, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and respect for nature.
Amber has experience working with children in an educational setting as well as community groups. Whether she is observing insects through a camera lens, exploring lights and shadows, or learning how nature teaches us patience and resilience, she creates lessons that blend art, science, and storytelling.
Her goal as a guest teacher isn’t just to teach art, but to rather help kid’s notice the world around them, feel confident in their creativity, and understand that nature is something that they are a part of.
Lessons can include:
Nature-based learning rooted in observation, curiosity, and respect for the environment
Creative photography & visual storytelling using age-appropriate tools (from simple cameras to mindful observations without equipment)
Hands-on exploration in nature that can include bugs, plants, animals, textures, light, and seasonal changes
Art-meets-science activities that encourage problem-solving, creativity, and confidence
Inclusive, calming, and encouraging teaching style that supports different learning styles
Author & storytelling experience including children’s book focused on nature and growth
*lessons can be tailored for summer camps, classrooms, libraries, homeschool groups, after-school programs, and special events.
